Birmingham, AL - April 9, 2009 -David Anderson and David Havens join Sterne Agee's Equity Capital Markets Group in their New York office.
Mr. Anderson joins Sterne Agee as a Managing Director and Senior Research Analyst covering the Exploration and Production sector. Previously, Mr. Anderson spent nine years in energy equity research at UBS Securities LLC, and was most recently the senior analyst covering the Oilfield Services and Equipment sector. Mr. Anderson joined UBS as an associate analyst and then went on to be an analyst covering small/mid-capitalization oil and gas companies (oil service and E&P). Before joining UBS, he was a senior engineer at Han-Padron Associates. Mr. Anderson received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Lehigh University, a master’s degree in ocean engineering from the University of Connecticut, and a master’s degree in civil engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology. Additionally, he is a chartered financial analyst (CFA), a licensed professional engineer (PE), and is a certified commercial diver.
Mr. Havens joined Sterne Agee in December 2008 as a Managing Director and Senior Research Analyst covering the Oilfield Services & Equipment sector. Prior to joining Sterne Agee, Mr. Havens was with Morgan Stanley & Co. for nine years covering energy in various roles. His coverage included six years in equity research covering the Oilfield Services & Equipment sector and the remaining three years managing an energy portfolio within the proprietary trading division. In early 2008, Mr. Havens joined a New York based hedge fund where he served as a managing director and the senior energy analyst for a $3.5 billion equity long short fund. Mr. Havens has a BS from the Vanderbilt University School of Engineering.
