Jay Carter joined Sterne Agee in 1998 and currently serves as President and CEO of Sterne Agee Financial Services (SAFS).  Mr. Carter is responsible for the daily operations of SAFS, which is an introducing broker/dealer with more than 100 independent Registered Representatives in over 35 states. Mr. Carter has more than 14 years of experience in the investment industry, having started his financial career as a Registered Representative for a national financial planning firm in 1993.  Prior to joining Sterne Agee, he served as Vice President of Business Development for a national brokerage firm that focuses on investment programs in financial institutions. He also served four years in the U. S. Army as a Russian Linguist. Mr. Carter earned a BA with a double major in Managerial Finance and Banking and Finance from the University of Mississippi, graduating cum laude in 1991. He holds Series 6, 7, 24, 63, and 65 securities registrations.
